Schloss Neuhof an der Zenn

Schloss Neuhof an der Zenn is a four-winged castle complex in Bavaria with two main floors, corner towers rising to three stories, and pyramid roofs above each tower section. The building extends around a central courtyard and combines several architectural styles in its layout.

The castle took shape between 1570 and 1573 through significant expansions that incorporated elements from an earlier medieval predecessor structure, including a round massive corner tower. These renovation phases blended medieval building substance with Renaissance features.

The castle displays regional building traditions through its wooden gallery with baluster railings and the use of local construction techniques that shape its appearance. These craft traditions remain visible in the facade details today.

The castle is located at Schlossstraße 14 and can be viewed from the outside, with the central courtyard providing a good overview of the architecture. Visitors should plan the best time for photography in daylight and check local viewing conditions before visiting.

The central tower positioned in the middle of three wings creates an asymmetrical layout that sets this place apart from other castles in Middle Franconia. This unusual arrangement yields a surprisingly dynamic perspective when walking around the building.
