Schloss Kugelhammer

Schloss Kugelhammer is a castle with stone walls located in Wendelstein, Bavaria. The three-story rectangular building features five window axes, volute gables on both sides, and a central dormer above the portal.

The castle was built in the 14th century next to a hammer mill and underwent major renovation in 1607. Further modifications followed in the 1730s and 1780s.

The interior rooms display ornate plasterwork on the ceilings that reflects the craftsmanship of the 18th century. These decorative details shape the rooms' appearance today and show the skill of artisans from that era.

Visits to the castle require advance arrangements, as it maintains no regular public visiting hours. It is advisable to contact ahead by telephone to arrange a suitable time.

The Schüsselfelder family acquired the castle in 1678 and continues to manage it today. This long-standing family stewardship of the property is unusual and has shaped its story through the centuries.
