Weißes Schloss, Heritage castle in Heroldsberg, Germany
Weisses Schloss is a three-story castle building in Heroldsberg featuring a pitched roof and a distinctive octagonal tower with a cone-shaped roof. The structure serves today as a cultural venue and exhibition space.
The castle was built in 1471 by the Geuder patrician family from Nuremberg and underwent major reconstruction following a fire in 1587. An octagonal tower was added in 1702, bringing the building to its present form.
The castle now operates as an art gallery displaying works by local and regional artists. Visitors can explore creative pieces from different periods in its exhibition rooms.
The location is easily accessible on foot near the town center of Heroldsberg and is moderately distant from the train station. The building is open to the public and has sufficient space for visitors to enjoy the exhibitions throughout its rooms.
The building served as the town hall of Heroldsberg until 2005, when municipal administration moved to a new facility near the train station. This role made it the administrative center of the town before transforming into a cultural landmark.
