Schloss Laudenbach, Baroque palace in Laudenbach, Bavaria, Germany

Schloss Laudenbach is a Baroque palace built between 1717 and 1747, its main building formed by two two-storey wings meeting at a right angle, with a mansard roof and a high cellar substructure facing the street. A narrow arched passage links it to the chapel, dated 1755, whose slate-clad roof turret rises above the complex. Outbuildings, a corner building, a barn and a sandstone-walled formal garden with a central fountain basin complete the estate.

The Fechenbach family held Laudenbach for over 600 years. Josepha von Fechenbach, widow of field marshal lieutenant Johann Reichard von Fechenbach, had the present Baroque palace built between 1717 and 1747. Its chapel was added in 1755 by Johann Philipp Karl von Fechenbach, later titular bishop of Taenarum and Würzburg cathedral canon. From 1923 to 2001 the estate passed by inheritance to the Barons von und zu Aufseß; in 2002 Alois Konstantin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg of Kleinheubach bought it as a family residence.

The Fechenbach family, imperial barons, were lords of the village and later of the castle for over 600 years. The chapel, built in 1755 by Johann Philipp Karl von Fechenbach, later titular bishop of Taenarum and Würzburg cathedral canon, still has its original furnishings. The castle has been privately owned since 2002 and is not open to the public.

Schloss Laudenbach is not open to the public; it has served as the private residence of Alois Konstantin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and his family since 2002. Visitors can view the complex from the street and the village, where the Corps de Logis with its mansard roof and the gate archway to the Dorfstraße are visible.

The chapel was built in 1755 on the orders of Johann Philipp Karl von Fechenbach, later titular bishop of Taenarum and canon of Würzburg. Its roof turret is dated 1755, and the chapel still holds its original furnishings.
