Haus der Freundschaft, Cultural heritage monument in Schkopau, Germany
The architectural structure features a theater hall with 750 seats and a concert hall accommodating 250 people in clear cubic forms.
Soviet officers initiated the construction of this cultural house between 1952 and 1953 for 20,000 employees of the Buna Works.
The facility hosted performances by national and international artists, including a complete season transfer of the Komische Oper from Berlin.
The building contained 100 different spaces for events and activities, including a restaurant that could serve 200 guests simultaneously.
The stage technology equipment installed in the cultural house ranked among the most advanced systems in the German Democratic Republic.
