Kirche Marienbrunn

Kirche Marienbrunn is a church building and heritage monument in the Marienbrunn neighborhood near Leipzig, featuring Art Deco design from the 1920s. The structure displays a simple style without a traditional steeple and accommodates around 180 people in its main hall.

Construction started on October 31, 1927, following a petition from 366 residents, and the building opened on September 2, 1928. Since 2020, it has been administered by the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community of Southern Leipzig.

The Christophorus window in the altar area tells the story of the saint through bright colored glass, blending religious tradition with modern artistic expression. Visitors can see how this visual narrative connects the building's simple design to the spiritual meaning it holds for the community.

A hand-operated bell gifted by Dutch partner churches in 1995 began ringing on October 3, 1999. This gift connects the unassuming building to a wider network of international church communities.
