Domstift Bautzen

The Cathedral Chapter Building in Bautzen is an administrative structure for St. Peter's Cathedral located in the city center, housing offices and meeting rooms for religious affairs. The baroque structure stands adjacent to the main cathedral and contains spaces dedicated to governance and record-keeping.

The chapter was founded in 1213 under Bishop Bruno II of Meissen to oversee the cathedral. The current building was reconstructed in the late 1600s following damage, adopting baroque architectural style.

The chapter served as a gathering place where clergy came together to govern the cathedral and make decisions about its operations. Visitors can see rooms arranged for meetings and administration that reflect this role.
