Isestraße 95, Heritage residential building in Harvestehude, Hamburg
The four-story residential structure at Isestraße 95 displays traditional German architecture with ornate facade details and large windows spanning its frontage.
The building gained recognition as the temporary residence of Angela Merkel, who spent her first weeks of life here in 1954 under her birth name Angela Kasner.
Located near the Isemarkt, which operates twice weekly beneath the U3 railway viaduct, offering local produce and goods since 1949.
The residential building maintains its original function and stands near the U3 metro line, providing direct transportation access to Hamburg city center.
Among the 249 memorial stones placed along Isestraße, several are located near number 95, marking the impact of National Socialist persecution in this area.
