St. Andreas, Catholic parish church in Fischbachau, Germany

St. Andreas is a Catholic parish church in Fischbachau featuring a Baroque hall design with an integrated choir area. A distinctive tower rises on the eastern side, forming a notable part of the building's overall structure.

The building was constructed between 1688 and 1689 by architect Johann Mayr as a religious center for the area. The tower was later completed in 1722 by Caspar Glasl, adding the final element to the church's form.

The church reflects the local community's faith and how craftsmanship shaped religious spaces in the Baroque era. Visitors can see the carefully designed details that reveal the importance of this place to the people who worshipped here.

The location is easy to reach and can be viewed well from outside as it sits centrally in town. The interior currently has limited wheelchair access, so visitors with mobility needs should check ahead of a visit.

The tower stands on the eastern side, whereas most Bavarian churches place towers on the western side. This unusual arrangement makes the building stand out and gives it a distinctive silhouette in the town.
