Wallfahrtskirche Heilig Blut am Wasen, Gothic pilgrimage church in Rosenheim, Germany.
Wallfahrtskirche Heilig Blut am Wasen is a Gothic church with a spacious nave divided into four sections. The choir tapers into a three-sided recess, and a south tower with a dome crowns the building.
Construction began at the end of the 15th century, with the choir completed in 1508. Later additions followed as pilgrimage numbers grew over time.
The name comes from a relic of the Holy Blood that has drawn pilgrims for centuries. Today visitors can see ornate ceiling paintings from 1686 depicting religious scenes that fill the interior.
The interior is open for visitors to walk through and explore. It helps to allow time to view the ceiling paintings and architectural details without rushing.
Next to the main church stands the Fountain Chapel from the 17th century with an octagonal shape and central well. This smaller structure is its own architectural piece with distinctive decorative elements.
