Princely Pantheon of Salm-Salm, Anholt, Princely pantheon in Isselburg, Germany

The pantheon features a hexagonal central building with a baroque-domed roof covered in slate and topped with a lantern in cream-colored brick.

Built in 1672 as a Catholic mission station for the Achterhoek region, the pantheon became the hereditary burial site for the Salm-Salm family in 1813.

The entrance displays a double-winged wooden door painted in black and white diamonds, framed by pilasters and crowned with a baroque alliance coat of arms.

The pantheon contains approximately 70 graves, with current burials taking place outside the chapel due to space limitations in the underground crypt.

Two iron gates in the surrounding brick wall are accessed by small brick bridges spanning a dry moat that encircles the entire cemetery grounds.
