Hofstraße 5

Hofstraße 5 houses a traditional farmhouse from 1947 that tells the story of families who resettled after World War II. The exhibits fill multiple rooms with displays about how these people established themselves in the region.

After World War II, more than 70 families from the Wolhynia region arrived in Linstow in 1945 following displacement from Eastern Europe. This house was among the first structures they built and remains a key landmark of their settlement.

The museum preserves objects and documents that reflect how relocated families rebuilt their lives in this rural community after leaving their homeland. Visitors can see personal items and photographs showing the daily reality of this resettlement process.

The museum operates during warmer months with limited weekend hours and closes or operates less frequently in winter. Check opening times in advance as the schedule varies by season.

The building was constructed by the resettlers themselves using traditional construction methods they brought from their homeland. This hands-on building approach reveals how the community relied on its own skills and knowledge to establish itself.
