Jägersburg

Jägersburg is a Baroque château in Eggolsheim situated at 361 meters elevation with multiple buildings including a main residence, gate tower, and chapel. The property features a spacious grounds with a terraced layout that offers views toward Bamberg, Forchheim, and Erlangen.

The château was built between 1721 and 1728 for Lothar Franz von Schönborn following designs by Anselm Franz von Ritter zu Groenesteyn. Its architecture reflects the Baroque traditions of the early 18th century and has retained its essential features through the decades.

The name comes from a hunter, reflecting the hunting traditions that shaped this place long ago. Visitors today gather on the terraces to celebrate events while taking in views across the countryside below.
