Rittergut Dölkau

Rittergut Dölkau is a stately three-story château in Dölkau near Leuna with classical architecture. The façade is defined by a grand portico with six Ionic columns, complemented by elaborate stucco ornamentation.

Between 1804 and 1806, Karl Ludwig August von Hohenthal had the château constructed by architect Johann Carl Friedrich Dauthe. This building period coincided with the growing influence of classical architecture in the region.

The estate shows how the local nobility wanted to live in the early 19th century and what architectural tastes they favored. The classical design of the house reflects the values and refinement of that era.

The property now serves as private residential housing, so visits to the buildings are not possible. However, the northern area contains a landscape park with a pond that can be viewed from outside.

In the northern part of the estate stands a memorial dedicated to Johann Jacob von Hohenthal, an older family member. This monument is often overlooked, yet it preserves an important part of the site's family history.
