St. Magnus

St. Magnus in Albersroda is a church whose oldest part is a tower from the 13th century, while the choir was designed in the late Gothic style. The nave was extended in 1838 in the classical style and now houses a large organ.

The tower contains paintings from the Renaissance period visible on its vault surfaces, showing the painting techniques of that era. These wall paintings are often overlooked, even though they represent an important record of artistic practice from that time.
