Schloss Wengwies, Architectural heritage monument in Eschenlohe, Germany.

Schloss Wengwies is a manor house in Eschenlohe featuring stepped gables, bay windows, and a distinctive tower set within a plastered facade. The structure reflects early 20th-century design principles combined with traditional Bavarian building techniques.

The manor was built in 1902 by architects Albert Jack and Max Wanner on land where two farms had stood since the mid-14th century. Its construction marked the transition from rural agricultural use to residential use by prosperous families.

The castle served as a home and workspace for artists and thinkers who created and developed their ideas within its walls. This artistic legacy has given the place a distinctive role in the local community that continues today.

The building sits in a quiet village setting in the Alpine foothills and is easily accessible from the town center. Visitors should allow time to view the exterior and surrounding landscape at a leisurely pace.

A member of the owning family was himself a noted sculptor and political writer who used the house as a hub for artistic activities. His works and writings connected the private residence to the broader cultural scene of his era.
