Villa Rosenhof Loschwitz

Villa Rosenhof is located at Schevenstraße 11 in Dresden and displays Neo-Renaissance architecture with detailed exterior elements and ornamental patterns. The building was converted into multiple residential units after World War II, with each apartment accessed through separate entrances.

The villa was built between 1884 and 1886 by architect Oscar Kaiser for his client Clemens von Hausen. It replaced an earlier summer residence called Villa Solitude that had previously occupied the site.

The villa reflects the lifestyle and tastes of Dresden's wealthy residents during the 1880s through its architectural design and grounds layout. The way the building is divided into separate living spaces today shows how people have adapted grand houses for modern residential needs.

The house is located in Loschwitz, a neighborhood of Dresden, and remains in residential use as private apartments today. Visitors should be aware that it is an occupied home and public access to the grounds may be limited.

Within the villa grounds stands a preserved water well house dating from 1725 with a still-functioning water source. This 41-meter-deep well is a relic from an earlier era that has survived to the present day.
