Evangelische Kirche, Protestant church in Buchschlag, Dreieich, Germany.

The Evangelische Kirche in Buchschlag is a modern-style church at the fork of Buchweg and Jägerweg, north of the Hengstbach stream. It consists of a low nave in the south and a tall campanile standing directly on the street in the north. An east portal with a stone relief above the door leads into the plain interior, lit by bands of concrete-glass windows and covered by an asymmetric saddle roof carried on round pillars.

In the early years of the Buchschlag villa colony there was no church, so services were held in private rooms, the old forest house, the fire station or the town hall hall. In 1936 the congregation converted a house on Forstweg into a community centre. The building plot was bought in 1952; the church was built to plans by Buchschlag architect Heinz Knodt, published in 1956 but possibly pre-war and revised after the war, and was extended west with a community hall in the late 1970s.

The congregation belongs to the Dekanat Dreieich-Rodgau of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau. Before a church existed, services were held in private rooms, the old Forsthaus, the fire station or the town hall hall; from 1936 a converted house on Forstweg served as the first community centre. The room can be enlarged into the adjoining community hall by opening a sliding wall.

The church stands at the fork of Buchweg and Jägerweg, north of the Hengstbach stream that separates the Buchschlag villa colony from later housing. The tall campanile sits directly on the street, while the entrance portal with its stone relief is on the east side of the nave.

The concrete-glass windows are by Gerhard Dreher and form a single artwork titled "Fünf Glocken" (Five Bells). The altar, font and oak pulpit were carved in 1957 by the sculptor brothers Klaus and Hans Steinbrenner in curved, rounded forms of Muschelkalk limestone, contrasting with the plain room.
