The two-story sandstone and brick villa at Tauscherstraße 44 features multiple balconies, ornate window frames, and half-timbered architectural elements.
Built in 1889 by architect Karl Emil Scherz for entrepreneur Theodor Eduard Haenel, the villa exemplifies the Neo-Renaissance style during Dresden's residential expansion.
The Protestant Adult Education Saxony operated in the villa from 1953 to 2020, serving as a center for religious and educational activities.
The exhibition hall on the first floor currently hosts art displays and events under the management of Ö GRAFIK marketing and design agency.
The building's facade originally displayed elaborate frescoes on the Tolkewitzer Straße side, and included a tower that was shortened during 1950s renovations.
