Hot Gun Town, Western theme park in Grafrath, Germany
Hot Gun Town was a Western amusement park in Grafrath featuring nineteen wooden buildings including the Silver Dollar Saloon, a sheriff's office, and a blacksmith shop spread across 48,000 square meters. The grounds also contained performance stages and show areas for the daily entertainment programs.
The park was founded in 1971 by former butcher Toni Lotschert from Koblenz and operated until a devastating fire destroyed all structures in July 1973. This fire ended operations after just two years.
The site was designed as a Western setting where visitors watched bank robberies and street fights staged daily. These performances shaped the visitor experience and made the location a destination for entertainment in the early 1970s.
The park is located northwest of Grafrath train station and the grounds have been partially reforested and remain largely undeveloped woodland area. The location today is difficult to access and the remains are barely visible.
The television series 'Stadt ohne Sheriff' was filmed on the grounds from December 1972 to June 1973 and featured actor Uwe Friedrichsen. The park served as a real film set for this production during its operations.
