Enzianhütte, Mountain hut in Kleinziegenfelder Tal, Germany
The Enzianhütte is a mountain hut in the Kleinziegenfelder Tal valley located in the Franconian Switzerland region at approximately 478 meters elevation. It provides eight mattress spaces and operates as a self-catering facility.
The hut was built in 1956 and initially served as accommodation on leased land. In 1971 it was permanently transferred to the ownership of the German Alpine Club Section Hof.
The hut reflects the tradition of simple mountain shelter living where guests experience self-catering and community in the spirit of Alpine club culture. This way of being far from comfort shapes the character of the place today.
The hut is accessible only on foot and sits conveniently for hiking and climbing activities nearby. Guests should bring sleeping bags, food, and water since the hut provides no meals or supplies.
The location sits near the climbing area of Teufelwand with several climbing routes of varying difficulty. For climbers, it serves as an important base for exploring this rock formation.
