Jugendbildungsstätte Hindelang, Youth education center and mountain hut in Bad Hindelang, Germany
The Jugendbildungsstätte Hindelang sits at 870 meters elevation and houses 103 beds in various room types along with several seminar rooms equipped with modern facilities. The buildings are arranged to accommodate groups of different sizes and provide ample space for gatherings and instruction.
The building was constructed between 1934 and 1937 as the Alpenhof by architect Lois Welzenbacher for a tobacco merchant. After decades of use, major modernizations took place in the 1990s and 2010s to operate it as an education center.
The center offers young people experiences in nature where they learn to work together and understand their environment. Visitors can see how the spaces are used for workshops and group activities that focus on practical skills in the mountains.
The center is accessible year-round and offers lodging for school groups, families, and organizations with full meal service. Food is prepared with a focus on regional and organic products, and the mountain location makes outdoor activities easily accessible.
The center features an impressive high ropes course with 11 elements specifically designed for team exercises and group games. This was installed in the 1990s and sets it apart from other mountain accommodations.
