Badesee Stoibermühle, Lake for swimming in Marzling, Germany.
Badesee Stoibermühle is a swimming lake near Marzling featuring two islands and reaching depths of up to 9 meters (30 feet). The water surface spans roughly 12 hectares (30 acres) with shallow areas along the shore and designated zones for different activities.
This lake was created between 1977 and 1980 as a byproduct of gravel extraction for the Munich-Deggendorf motorway construction. What began as an industrial quarrying site was later converted into a public bathing destination.
This swimming lake emerged from a former gravel pit and now serves as a recreation area drawing visitors from the surrounding region. The site has been transformed to accommodate different water activities and leisure pursuits throughout the year.
The gently sloping shoreline makes entry into the water easy for families and young swimmers of all levels. Separate zones allow sunbathing, swimming, and other water sports to coexist without crowding or conflicts.
A plant protection zone in the southern section provides habitat for native wildlife and vegetation often overlooked by swimmers. This biodiverse area quietly maintains the ecological balance that keeps the waters healthy for recreation.
