Zionskirche, Lutheran church in Striesen, Dresden, Germany.
The Zionskirche is a church building in Dresden-Striesen with six tall arched windows and an 11 meter bell tower. The structure has simple, clear architectural forms and was expanded in 2013 with modern office spaces.
The congregation formed in 1872 as a Methodist group that initially met in private spaces, as authorities did not support smaller religious communities. The current building was later constructed to provide this growing group with their own place.
The church takes its name from Zion, reflecting biblical significance. Today the interior serves the community for worship and gatherings, reflecting a straightforward Protestant tradition.
The interior accommodates about 150 worshippers and is arranged clearly for easy access. The building is located in the Striesen district and is reachable on foot or by local transport.
The organ installed in 1950 comes from the Jehmlich workshop and is equipped with ten registers. This instrument shapes the musical services to this day.
