Stadtkirche Balingen, Gothic church at Market Square, Balingen, Germany
The Stadtkirche Balingen features an octagonal tower and stands as a central element at the town's market square within the former city walls.
Originally constructed in 1443 as a late Gothic hall church, the building expanded from the St. Nicholas Chapel, which was first mentioned in the 14th century.
The interior contains numerous historical tombstones and epitaphs of the Zollern family, with the oldest dating from 1565.
The church provides regular services and concerts, with the next Advent concert scheduled for December 15, 2024 at 17:00.
The church maintains an eight-sided choir tower throughout its height, distinguishing it from other regional ecclesiastical structures.
