Windpark Jüchen A44n, Wind farm near A44n motorway in Jüchen, Germany.
Windpark Jüchen A44n is a facility with six wind turbines positioned on both sides of the Bundesautobahn 44 motorway. The turbines are designed with a hybrid tower system and sit in the southern part of Jüchen district.
Construction began in April 2020, but structural issues required complete dismantling and reconstruction. The rebuilt facility started operations in May 2024.
The wind farm represents North Rhine-Westphalia's commitment to renewable energy, transforming former lignite mining areas into sustainable power generation sites.
The turbines are clearly visible from the motorway as you drive along the A44. Visitors can photograph them from various angles along the roadside.
Each turbine combines concrete segments with steel tubes in a hybrid tower design that represents a special engineering approach. This mixed construction method gives the structures their stability and ability to withstand weather forces.
