Schloss Bodenburg

Schloss Bodenburg is a castle in Bad Salzdetfurth featuring a prominent tower and a pond on its western side. The grounds include an English-style landscape park with specimen trees planted throughout the open areas.

The castle originated as a water fortress in the 10th century and underwent major reconstruction after multiple fires damaged its structure. It suffered significant harm during the Thirty Years' War but was restored in the following period.

The park surrounding the castle serves as a public space where visitors can walk among mature trees and experience the grounds as locals do. The green space offers a quiet place for people to spend time in nature while viewing the estate from the outside.

The courtyard contains a historic structure called the Bullenstall that now hosts art exhibitions and cultural events. This adapted building demonstrates how older structures on the grounds have been given new purpose for contemporary use.
