Mariä Himmelfahrt is a parish church in Aldersbach featuring pink plaster walls with white accents. A square tower topped with ornamental volutes and a dome-shaped roof crowns the structure.
Abbot Michael Kirchberger initiated the reconstruction of the medieval choir in 1617. Extensive renovations followed between 1705 and 1734.
The interior frescoes were painted by Cosmas Damian Asam, a renowned Baroque artist. The high altar from 1723 depicts Saint Bernard kneeling before the Virgin Mary.
