Kapbuschsee, Lake in Hückelhoven, Germany
The Kapbuschsee extends over an area with a swimming zone of 14,000 square meters and white sand beaches along its shores.
The lake emerged from sand and gravel extraction operations in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Heinsberg district.
The lake hosts annual summer festivals where proceeds go to children's cancer support organizations through charitable donations.
Visitors can access swimming areas, beach volleyball courts, showers, toilets, and a snack bar during the summer months from May to August.
The northern section of Kapbuschsee forms part of an 89-hectare nature reserve containing connected forest areas surrounded by agricultural land.
