Toyota Collection, Automobile museum in Marsdorf, Germany
The Toyota Collection is an automobile museum in Marsdorf housing approximately 70 vehicles across about 1,800 square meters (19,400 sq ft), including racing models, classic cars, and technical exhibits from the company's history. The collection traces the evolution from early production vehicles to specialized models spanning different eras.
A collector named Peter Pichert began building this collection starting in 1994 near Passau and assembled more than 100 Toyota vehicles. Following his death in 2016, Toyota Deutschland GmbH acquired the collection and relocated it to its present location.
The exhibition displays Japanese engineering through different generations of models like Corolla, Crown, and Celica. Visitors can observe how design philosophy and technical innovation evolved across the decades.
The museum is open to visitors on select dates each month and does not charge entrance fees. Plan to spend enough time to explore the various vehicles and exhibition areas at a comfortable pace.
The collection includes a former Land Cruiser owned by Roger Moore and a Toyota Century model similar to those used by the Japanese Imperial House. These exceptional vehicles reveal the brand's diverse story across continents and different social circles.
