The Heraion of Samos was a large sanctuary to the goddess Hera, located on the southern region of Samos island.
The construction of the Heraion started in the 8th century BC and continued until the Roman period.
Historically, the Heraion was a significant religious site for the cult of Hera.
Today, the ruins of the Heraion have become a popular tourist destination.
A single column stands at the Heraion that once supported the largest known Ionic temple.
