Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art is located in Chora on the island of Andros and displays modern artworks distributed across several floors. The collection features works by Greek and international artists presented in rotating exhibitions.

The Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation established this institution in 1979 as a venue for contemporary artworks. A new building was added in 1986, providing more space for expanding exhibitions.

The museum displays works by significant artists such as Auguste Rodin and Paul Delvaux in rotating exhibitions. These collections draw people interested in contemporary artistic directions from Greece and beyond.

The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday with different times depending on the season. It is easily accessible on foot and offers good conditions for exploring the various exhibition levels.

The museum garden was designed by Miranda Spiliotopoulou-Vazaka and received recognition at an international garden exposition in Japan. This green design offers a calm contrast to the contemporary artworks inside.
