Archaeological Museum of Kilkis, Archaeological institution in Kilkis, Greece.

The museum in Kilkis displays artifacts in three chronologically arranged rooms, presenting finds from prehistoric times through the Roman period. The collection includes objects from multiple archaeological excavations across the Kilkis region.

Founded in 1972, the museum houses collections from excavations at key sites including Kolchida and the cemetery of Palaio Gynaikokastro. These finds document human settlement and cultural development across the region over several millennia.

The exhibition halls display Neolithic figurines, Iron Age jewelry, and Classical sculptures, including the Kouros from Evropos and statues from the sanctuary of Palatiano. These objects show how different ancient peoples in this region worshipped their gods and honored their dead.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours during summer months and reduced prices in winter. Plan at least one and a half to two hours to explore the three exhibition rooms thoroughly.

A particularly striking feature is found in Room B, where complete reconstructions of ancient burials are displayed in the corners. These recreations offer a rare look at how Iron Age people arranged their dead with personal objects as part of funeral customs.
