Olympiaki Akti, Beach settlement of Olympian Riviera in Katerini Municipality, Greece
Olympiaki Akti is a coastal settlement with a broad sandy beach along the Thermaic Gulf, situated south of Thessaloniki. The shoreline features shallow bathing areas and clear water views, while modest restaurants and guesthouses line the area.
The settlement was originally called Katerinoskala and served as a small fishing harbor village. It was incorporated into Katerini municipality in 1981 and gradually developed as a tourist destination.
Local tavernas serve traditional Greek seafood and fish dishes that reflect the community's deep connection to fishing. You can observe fishermen maintaining their boats and going about their daily work along the shore.
The beach lies about 8 kilometers south of Katerini and is easily reached by car or bus. Parking is available near the shore, and the water is warmest from June through September.
The water here has maintained good quality standards for many years, recognized by environmental certifications from 2002 onwards. The beach tends to be less crowded than places further west, making it a calmer spot for swimmers.
