Known for its theatres, cafes, and luxury shops, the Champs-Élysées has become one of the most famous streets in the world.

The annual Bastille Day military parade, the finish of the Tour de France, and the Christmas lights are major events hosted on this avenue.

Its name refers to the 'Elysian Fields', the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology.
