The white stone towers of Château d'Ussé rise along the Indre River banks, featuring pointed roofs and detailed architectural elements from multiple construction periods.

The initial fortification from the 11th century transformed through generations, with Jean V de Bueil purchasing and reconstructing the castle in the 1440s.

Charles Perrault created the tale of Sleeping Beauty while staying at Château d'Ussé, establishing the castle's connection to French literary heritage.

The castle opens from February to November, with adult tickets priced at 14.50 euros and children between 8 and 16 years paying 7 euros.

The Château d'Ussé remains under continuous occupation by the same family for over two centuries, with the Duke of Blacas maintaining residence there.
