Château d'Ussé

Château d'Ussé is a Renaissance castle featuring white stone walls and pointed towers rising along the Indre River. The castle began as a fortification in the 11th century but underwent major reconstruction in the 1440s under Jean V de Bueil. This significant rebuilding shaped the Renaissance appearance that remains visible today and established it as a major noble residence.
