This Louis XIII style château features ornate stone and brick facades decorated with carved grotesque masks and heraldic shields, surrounded by defensive moats that enhance its architectural grandeur.

Built between 1633 and 1640 by Jacques Nonant on the site of a medieval castle, it replaced an earlier motte-and-bailey structure first mentioned in the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte in 911.

The estate houses a historic library assembled by Hans Fürstenberg and hosts cultural events including concerts, candlelit tours, and themed evenings that celebrate French heritage throughout the year.

Open from Easter to late September except Tuesdays, with extended hours in July-August from 11am to 4:30pm, admission starts at 8.50 euros for château visits.

Known as the Norman Versailles, it boasts a nearly kilometer-long parterre with geometric flower beds and a one-hectare pond that perfectly reflects the building's architectural details.
