Quartier des Batignolles, Administrative quarter in 17th arrondissement, Paris, France

The Batignolles quarter extends between Boulevard des Batignolles, Avenue de Clichy, Rue Cardinet, and Rue de Rome in northern Paris.

The area transformed from an independent village to become part of Paris in 1860 through a decree issued by Emperor Napoleon III.

The neighborhood attracted painters like Edouard Manet and poets Paul Verlaine and Stephane Mallarme during the nineteenth century.

The district connects to Paris transport network through metro stations La Fourche, Rome, Pont Cardinet, and Brochant on lines 2, 13, and 14.

Former SNCF railyards underwent transformation into the 4.3-hectare Parc Clichy-Batignolles Martin-Luther-King, adding green space to the neighborhood.
