Gien

Gien is a French commune situated along the Loire River in the Loire Valley. The town stretches along the riverbank with stone buildings, local government offices, and public facilities distributed across its territory.

Gien developed as a settlement along the Loire and later became an administrative center with a castle. During World War II, German air raids targeted the Loire bridge, causing widespread destruction across the town.

The Château de Gien houses a museum dedicated to hunting traditions, where visitors can see crafted objects from different periods on display. The collection reveals how significant hunting was to this region over time.
