Prunelli-di-Casacconi

Prunelli-di-Casacconi is a small mountain commune in Haute-Corse spread across rolling terrain with scattered hamlets and houses. The landscape includes wooded areas, open hillsides, and settlements distributed across a broad rural area in the northeastern part of the island.

The commune was administratively transferred from the arrondissement of Bastia to the arrondissement of Corte in 2009. This reorganization was part of a broader regional restructuring of territorial administration in Haute-Corse.

The municipality maintains strong connections to Corsican traditions through its participation in the Comunidad de comunas del Casaccóni è Gólu Suttanu regional organization.

The town hall is located at Place Saint-Quilicus and is open during standard business hours. Visitors should plan transportation carefully, as this is a rural location with limited connections to larger towns.

The population of Prunelli-di-Casacconi has remained consistently small, with only 149 residents as of 2022, preserving its character as an intimate mountain community.
