Mirapolis, Amusement park in France
Mirapolis was an amusement park near Courdimanche in the Val-d'Oise department that spread across a large site with multiple themed areas. The park combined rides and entertainment attractions with literary scenes and detailed reconstructions based on French stories and characters.
The park opened in 1987 and quickly became one of France's largest leisure parks at the time. Visitor numbers declined within a few years due to financial difficulties, leading to its closure in 1991.
The park centered on French literary characters, including figures from Rabelais' novels like Gargantua. These references gave the attractions a local flavor rooted in French storytelling traditions.
The site no longer exists as an operating amusement park and is not accessible for visits today. The land was repurposed or redeveloped after the closure.
The park grounds featured several reconstructed structures meant to represent French landmarks and literary locations that have since completely vanished. These detailed constructions were a distinctive feature for visitors at the time, leaving no physical traces today.
