Parc de Bagatelle, Botanical garden in 16th arrondissement, Paris, France
The 24-hectare Parc de Bagatelle features formal gardens, ponds, a small castle, and numerous walking paths through carefully maintained landscaping.
The park originated in 1775 from a wager between Marie-Antoinette and the Count of Artois, leading to its construction in just 64 days.
The rose garden hosts an annual competition for new rose varieties since 1907, displaying over 10,000 rose plants across 1,200 different species.
Visitors can access the park daily from 9:30 AM, with extended hours until 8 PM during summer months from April through September.
The grounds contain several architectural elements including a Chinese pagoda, artificial grottos, and medieval-style entrance gates near Neuilly-sur-Seine.
