Empurany

Empurany sits on a sunny hillside in the middle mountains, offering commanding views over the Rhône Valley and extending from 300 to 1000 meters altitude with diverse panoramas across the Ardèche Mountains.

The Romanesque church of Empurany, dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, has been recently restored and maintains its exposed stone construction, representing a significant example of medieval religious architecture in the region.

The commune organizes community events throughout the year through its volunteer associations, including the annual cherry festival and songs and chestnuts evening, celebrating local conviviality and regional flavors.

Empurany provides functional infrastructure including a grocery store with bread depot, restaurant and bar-tobacco-post office relay, plus recreational areas and camping facilities to accommodate visitors during their stay.

The commune was awarded in 2016 during the departmental flowering village competition, achieving third place in the category for villages under 500 inhabitants, reflecting residents' commitment to beautifying their environment.
