History
The renowned architect Germain Boffrand designed and built the castle between 1720 and 1732 for an influential family in Lorraine. The project combined new baroque ideas with parts of an older stronghold that already stood on the site.
Culture
The castle takes its name from the Haroué family and displays interior work by regional artists from the 18th century. Visitors can see the ornate details on doors, walls, and ceilings that reflect the craftsmanship of the period.
