Pillar of the Boatmen, Roman monument in France
The Pillar of the Boatmen is a square-section stone pedestal dating from around 14 AD.
It was originally erected by a guild of boatmen in Lutetia, the city that would become Paris.
The pillar is adorned with various depictions of Roman and Celtic gods, reflecting the cultural fusion of the time.
Today, it can be viewed at the National Museum of the Middle Ages in Paris.
It's the oldest monument in Paris.
