Château de Sully-sur-Loire, Medieval fortress in Sully-sur-Loire, France

The castle consists of a rectangular keep measuring 39 meters by 16 meters, featuring distinct military architecture and Renaissance elements across multiple structures.

Built in the late 14th century under Guy VI de la Trémoille, the castle served as residence for Maximilien de Béthune, minister of King Henry IV.

The castle houses nineteen furnished rooms containing collections of tapestries and paintings depicting the history of French nobility through centuries.

Located at the intersection of Loire and Sange rivers, the castle opens daily except Mondays and received over 63,000 visitors in 2015.

The Grand Galetas features a remarkable oak framework constructed without traditional support methods, demonstrating advanced medieval carpentry techniques.
