Templar Chapelle in Metz, 12th-century religious chapel in Metz, France
The Templar Chapelle exhibits an octagonal structure with ribbed vaults, a square choir, and a small apse in the Romanesque architectural style.
After serving the Knights Templar from 1180, the chapel transferred to the Knights of St John of Jerusalem in 1312 and became a warehouse in 1556.
The interior walls contain medieval murals, including a 14th-century fresco of the Virgin and a carving of the Holy Spirit on the keystone.
The chapel opens daily from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with multiple bus lines stopping at Republique station providing access to the location.
The main door's lintel features an original carved cross symbol, marking the chapel's connection to the Knights Templar religious order.
