Arsenal de Metz, Concert hall in Metz, France
Arsenal de Metz is a concert hall in France featuring a large auditorium with approximately 1350 seats and exceptional acoustics for musical performances. The building combines the original stone structure with modern design elements to achieve superior sound quality.
The structure was originally built in 1864 as a military arsenal before undergoing a complete transformation into a concert venue. It reopened as a cultural space in 1989 with a new purpose focused on music and performance.
The venue hosts a wide range of orchestral concerts, chamber music performances, and contemporary works that draw audiences throughout the year. You can experience everything from classical symphonies to modern compositions in a single location.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and provides parking facilities and multiple entrances for easy navigation. The box office operates primarily on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings for visitor convenience.
Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill carefully preserved the original stone facade of the former military building while integrating cutting-edge acoustic design inside. This blend of historical preservation and modern engineering created a space where the past and present coexist visibly.
