Tempel La Gendronniere

Tempel La Gendronniere is a Zen Buddhist meditation center set on expansive grounds that include forests, small lakes, and a late 19th-century chateau integrated into the complex. The property provides facilities for study and practice across multiple buildings and natural spaces.

The International Zen Association acquired the property in 1979 under the guidance of Master Taisen Deshimaru and established it as a center for Soto Zen Buddhism. This founding marked a key moment in bringing authentic Zen practice to Western Europe.

The center blends Eastern traditions with Western artistic practices through regular classes in calligraphy, pottery, and flower arrangement offered throughout the year.
